What is the CV Helper?

Together with Tilburg Career Services, we believe a CV should genuinely reflect who you are as a person and a professional. To be fair, a CV created entirely by AI diminishes its value. That’s why the CV Helper offers two distinct approaches to help a student create or improve their CV, each designed to preserve the authentic voice of a student while helping the student to present him- or herself in the best possible light.

Option 1: The CV Review

If a student has a CV already, it can be uploaded, after the student will collaborate with the chatbot to refine to fit the best practices as per Tilburg Career Services. During this process, the student will receive a review section by section, consisting on how each part comes across to potential employers. Rather than simply rewriting the students content, the chatbot engages in thoughtful discussions to help the student present their experiences and skills in the best possible way. This collaborative approach makes sure the CV remains genuine, while it fullfills all the best practice requirements becoming more impactful.

Option 2: Building Your CV Together

If a student is starting from scratch, the chatbot walks them through every step of creating their CV. The student will begin by reflecting on their unique background, goals, and experiences. Then, the CV content is build up iteratively, section per section. The chatbot will not write the CV for the student; instead, it asks reflective questions and provides examples to help them identify and express their strengths in their own words.

Tip: Throughout the conversation, it’s important not to share any personal information, such as phone numbers, email addresses, or home addresses. The chatbot can discuss how to format and present this information using example placeholders instead.
